The Expression Swing

I had the chance over this long holiday weekend to try out the new Expression Swing by GameTime that I've been hearing so much about.  Once I told my oldest daughter that it was a swing we could ride together, and with her sister, she was sold.  If you've never heard anything about the Expression Swing, it's a newly designed swing meant to increase connection and bonding with your baby.

This swing is not only great for moms to use with their babies, but for siblings, older children, and basically anyone who wants to ride together, provided one of you fits in the child's seat.

I took a turn with my youngest and not only did she smile and laugh the whole time but I was able to clearly see her expression instead of watching it go in and out of focus like a traditional swing, where I just stand in front of her.  My oldest also got a chance to swing with me, as well as her little sister, and she too loved every minute (except for when I told her it was time to get off and head home).

First off, I have to say that I was not approached by anyone to write a blog about this product.  As a mom and a therapist, once I heard about this swing I jumped at the opportunity to try it out and spread the word.  The benefits of face-to-face and eye-to-eye contact are not just important for baby, they are import for whoever is on the other side of the swing, especially moms.  The Expression Swing is also one of the rare pieces of playground equipment that child and parent can enjoy at the same time.  For parents who are looking to get more out of their trip to the park, this swing is a wonderful step in the right direction when in comes to making the playground a family experience.

If you'd like to find an expression swing in your area or even order one for your backyard, visit their site at http://www.gametime.com/expression/.
